Static

Static pipe bursting is an effective cost saving method to replace existing water lines without the need for open-cut digging. Static pipe bursting follows the existing utility line path using rods to pull a conical-shaped expansion head through the existing line. Thus, reducing the risk of damage to conflicting utilities located in the area and eliminating up to 85 percent of the excavation and restoration work compared to the open-cut method.

Pneumatic

Pneumatic pipe bursting is an effective cost saving method to replace existing sewer lines without the need for open-cut digging used primarily for replacing gravity-fed pipes relying on a percussion hammer action to help the expander head break the host pipe. A winch located at ground level maintains constant tension on the bursting head with use of a thick metal cable.
